ESPN-R (European Safety Promotion Network – Rotorcraft) Safety
Management System (SMS) Manual are available for download.
The working team reviewed the former EHEST SMS Manual to update the
document with the state-of-the-art safety processes and procedures, in
order to fulfil the SMS requirements.
The SMS manual includes the indications from the ICAO Annex 19 and it
is in line with the ICAO Doc 9859 suggestions.

EHEST PRE-FLIGHT RISK MANAGEMENT CHECKLIST / FRAT.
This
tool has been developed to allow pilots and technicians to evaluate the
actual risk of the flight or of the maintenance.
The final purpose is to make pilots and technicians aware that small
simple situations, when combined, can raise the total risk
significantly, eventually resulting in a situation so dangerous that
the flight or maintenance itself is not suggested unless some of the
risky situations are mitigated.

These checklists have been adapted from the "Preflight Risk Assessment
Checklist". They were developed for an "objective" measure of a
potential fatigue and stress level for pilots and technical crew
members in HEMS shifts, in case of request of an increase of the shift
service days due to the Coronavirus emergency. These checklists can be
used also in other contexts.
